High Museum of Art

High Museum of Art is an art museum in Atlanta, Georgia, on Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta, the city’s art district. The museum was established around 1905 by The Atlanta Art Association. It is home to the world’s most renowned collection of historical and contemporary art and exhibitions unique to the museum.

COVID Guidelines

Visitors must follow all regulations according to the current CDC guidelines and the mayor’s executive order. Masks are mandatory for visitors who are older than two years of age. The museum also has cleaning stations for the hands at elevators.

Tickets

The purchase of a general admission ticket gives you access to the galleries. Tickets are sold separately for each event. Events require registration in advance. Children under the age of 6 are admitted free of charge. The admission fee at the High Museum includes access to special exhibits and the permanent collection. All active duty, reserve, veterans, and retired personnel from the Armed Forces of the US are eligible for free admission to the museum. A valid military ID for this benefit.

Museum Pass

Tour requests must be made at least one month before the date you wish to visit.

Due to the size and capacity of The Obama Portraits Tour, the tour will not offer adult or older tours to the exhibit.

Art Conservations

High Museum High Museum has various collections like Photography, Decorative Arts and Design, African, American, European and Modern, and Contemporary Art, as well as Folk and Self-Taught Art.

Art Conservation in the museum is supported by The Atlanta Art Conservation Center (AACC). This organization is a non-profit that takes care of items ranging from family photos, antiques, heirlooms, antiques, and some of the most historical artworks.

Classes

Apart from the occasional gallery visit In addition to occasional gallery visits, the High Museum also provides courses throughout the year to children and adults. Learn new techniques and methods from artists in the area. The classes for youth as well as adults are offered.
